Privacy Policy
Information we collect
In the course of its operation, the votonselisma.ca website collects only the information strictly necessary to communicate with you. When you use the contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and the content of your message. No other information is requested through the form. The site does not use tracking cookies, advertising tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools designed to profile visitors. The only other technical elements that may be recorded are the standard logs kept by the hosting provider or server operator (including IP address, browser type, and request timestamp), solely for the purpose of ensuring the security and stability of the site. These logs are not used to identify you personally or to cross-reference your data for commercial purposes.
How we use your information
The information you provide through the contact form is used exclusively for campaign communication. It allows us to answer your questions, send you the information you request, take note of your comments, or consider your concerns as part of David Elisma’s campaign for Zone 6 of the CECCE. Your data is not used for any commercial purpose, nor to build a profiled database for marketing. Using the form constitutes your consent to this electoral communication purpose. You may at any time request not to receive further communications from us.
Sharing of information
We never sell the personal information you entrust to us. It is never shared with third parties for commercial purposes. The data transmitted through the contact form is accessible only to authorized persons within the campaign, to the extent strictly necessary to process your message. Disclosure may occur only where the law expressly requires or permits it, for example in the context of a legal obligation, a court order, or the rules applicable to electoral communications in Canada and Ontario. Outside of these limited and regulated cases, your information remains internal to the campaign.
Data retention
Your personal information is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, namely campaign-related communication, and for compliance with the obligations arising from it. At the end of the campaign, or when your data is no longer needed, it is deleted or securely anonymized. If you request deletion of your data before that time, we will proceed with its erasure within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any retention obligations that may arise by law.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, the right to correct any inaccuracies, and the right to withdraw your consent to communication. You may also request the deletion of your data to the extent that no legal obligation prevents it. To exercise these rights, simply contact us through the contact form at /en/contact. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and will inform you, where applicable, of the action taken. No fee will be charged for exercising these rights, unless your request is manifestly excessive or repetitive.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, disclosure, or alteration. These measures include, in particular, restricting data access to authorized persons, using secure connections, and monitoring the proper operation of the site. However, since no system is entirely infallible, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Should a breach or security incident affect your information, we would take appropriate measures to limit the consequences and would inform you in accordance with applicable obligations.
Applicable law
This privacy policy is designed to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). In addition, a candidate’s electoral communications are subject to additional rules of electoral law, at both the federal and provincial levels, in particular with respect to communications with voters. The policy is also aligned with the principles applicable in Ontario regarding the protection of personal information. In the event of a discrepancy between the French and English versions of this policy, the authoritative version will be determined in accordance with the rules of interpretation applicable to bilingual Canada.
Contact us
For any question regarding this policy, to exercise your rights, or for any concern about the handling of your personal information, you may write to us through the contact form available at /en/contact. We undertake to review each request diligently and to respond within a reasonable timeframe. Any additional contact details are listed on that same contact page.
